Resumen

This work contains a study of adolescence from the psychological point of view, considering that age as an epoch of transition from childhood to manhood. After establishing the difference between adolescence and puberty and approximatively fixing their chronological limits, the authoress studies the psychological characters of this most important age. Its typical features —introversion, integration of personality, incorporation into the community, etc.—, are closely analysed as well as the different changing interests which go with the double commotion —physiological and psychological— of this period of transition and the principal problems which pose themselves to the adolescent. All along this article the authoress points out the differences existing in this process between both sexes and emphasizes the importance and the dangers that this second birth of the being has for future personality.
