La nueva legislación educativa: por qué no mejorará la educación pública en España




This paper provides some reasons that ex­plain, in the view of the author, why the present eagerness of the Spanish Educational Authori­ties to reform all levels of education, from pri­mary school to the universities, will not improve the quality of the Spanish educational system.

Author Biography

José Adolfo de Azcárraga is Pro­fessor Emeritus (theoretical physics) at Valencia University and a member of IFIC (CSIC-UV). He has frequently been Visiting Scholar at Cambridge and Oxford universi­ties, and visited many other research cen­tres in Europe and the US. He has been PI (1978-2013) of research projects and acted as evaluator for Spanish and international research agencies. He is editor and author of various scientific books and of some 180 research papers. He is a member of phys­ics and mathematics societies (APS, EPS, IAMP), and has been President (2013-21) of the Spanish Royal Physics Society. He was a member of the Experts Committee for the Reform of the Spanish University System whose Report was issued in 2013, and is a member of the Free College of Emeritus.
