Burnouts syndrome in the teachers of Secondary Education and its relation with personal and professional variables.

Abstract

This study analyzes Burnouts level (formed by the dimensions of Exhaustion, Depersonalization and Accomplishment) of the teachers of Secondary Education. The sample has been composed by 794 teachers of the CAM. A non experimental design was used. The differences in the levels of the syndrome and its dimensions, depending on personal and professional variables of the teachers, and the Burnouts profiles found in the sample were analyzed. The results show Burnouts general medium level in the teachers and medium, medium-low and medium-high levels in Exhaustion, Depersonalization and Accomplishment, respectively. Significant differences in the dimensions, depending on variables as age, years of experience, type of center, given subject and number of absences were found. These results are discussed and future lines of investigation are proposed.
